How to apply to Oslo New University College
We are very excited to welcome international students to our Oslo campus.
Our English taught courses are held each year during the fall semester. Please apply for admission before April 1st.
Free-mover for a semester
If you wish to apply for admission as a free-mover, please send us your contact details and your educational papers (high school, college and language qualifications). We will also need a motivational letter (about one page), as well as a confirmation from your home institution that confirms the courses you take with us will be included in your degree at your home institution. Please send all documents in one email to opptak@oslonh.no, and note in the email that you want to take a “study abroad program” for the coming fall semester.
Please also make sure you are qualified in either Norwegian or English (see below).

Take a full degree or single course at Oslo New University College
If you are proficient in the Norwegian language, you can apply for a full degree at Oslo New University College/Oslo Nye Høyskole. You can find all our programs and apply for admission on our website. Please visit studyinnorway.no for more information about pursuing a full degree in Norway.
Oslo New University College offers individual courses in English, either on-campus or online. These courses range from 7,5 ECTS, 10 ECTS or 15 ECTS and are part of an officially approved degree in Norway.
For applicants wishing to undertake any of these individual courses, they must satisfy the general entry requirements for ONUC, excluding the Norwegian language requirement. As an alternative language requirement, applicants must document proficiency in English instead. Additionally, applicants must prove they are qualified for higher education.
All applicants can meet the English language requirement at ONUC by completing and passing one of these:

English (140 hours) from Norwegian upper secondary school: written and oral exam.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 60 points from TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition or 500 points from TOEFL PBT.

IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) Academic test / Online academic test with a minimum score of 5.0

Cambridge ESOL Examinations: First Certificate in English

Cambridge ESOL Examinations: Certificate in Advanced English

Cambridge ESOL Examinations: Certificate of Proficiency in English

Pearson PTE Academic /
with an overall score of 51 on PTE Academic / PTE Academic Online -
The European language certificate (telc): English B2

The European language certificate (telc): English B2-C1 University

The European language certificate (telc): all English certificates at C1-level

Duolingo language test: minimum 75 overall.
You can also meet the English language requirement if the applicant has one of these:

A complete or incomplete undergraduate degree in English language and literature with courses in English language and literature that are equivalent to minimum 60 ECTS.

Completed a minimum of one year of upper secondary school or one year university studies taught in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain or the USA.

Completed a master's degree taught in English.

Completed a bachelor’s degree taught in English in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden.

Passed English as «Language 2» or Language 2» on a European Baccalaureate Diploma

Completed and passed an International Baccalaureate Diploma or Certificate (IB)
