Student life at Oslo New University College
Oslo New University College is not just a place of learning; it's a warm and inclusive community that fosters connections between fellow students and dedicated lecturers.
What’s it like to study in Oslo? And what can you expect from student life at our university?
In January 2025, Oslo New University College (ONH) moved into our brand-new Campus Adamstuen, a modern and welcoming space designed with students in mind. Here, you'll find everything you need for a great study experience – including a library, group rooms, reading spaces, and social areas.
Located in the vibrant Adamstuen neighborhood, our campus is surrounded by cozy cafés, shops, and a fitness center. The tram stops right outside the building, and you're just a short scooter or bike ride away from downtown Oslo.
A Welcoming Campus Atmosphere
At ONH, we want you to feel at home. Take a break on the mezzanine, relax in the atrium or library, or grab a coffee at one of the nearby cafés.
The mezzanine is one of the most popular spots on campus – a place to meet friends, play table tennis or board games, study, or attend both academic and social events. One of our signature events is the Midday Talk, where engaging topics are presented in a fun and informal way.
Our new library is another hub of student life. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to read, a space to collaborate, or just want to enjoy a calm atmosphere, you'll find it here.

A Supportive Learning Environment
Oslo New University College is known for its close-knit academic community. Our dedicated lecturers are approachable and always ready to help — the door is literally open.
Here’s what makes us stand out:
• Small class sizes that foster close connections between students, lecturers, and staff
• Knowledgeable and engaged teaching staff
• Great opportunities to build your network – it’s easy to start new student groups or arrange social activities
• A vibrant campus life with weekly events, social gatherings, and inspiring Midday Talks
Whether you're here for a semester or your full degree, you’ll find a warm, inclusive environment where it’s easy to thrive – both academically and socially.

Walking distance to both the city and student housing
After a day of studying, you're just a short stroll away from the tranquil St. Hans Park or an easy reach of trendy Oslo neighbourhoods like Bislett and Grünerløkka.
Most student residences in Oslo are also conveniently located near the Oslo New University College.

Most satisfied students in Norway
At ONH, we take pride in having some of the most satisfied students in the country. Norway’s annual Student Barometer satisfaction survey consistently ranks ONH at the top, and it's not just about academics – our social environment is equally important.
It's easy to get involved at ONH, no matter the nationality. You can join existing clubs and initiatives, participate in a wide range of social activities, including weekly events, Wednesday coffee sessions, yoga, and midday talks. Our culture promotes interaction between students and lecturers, whose open office doors reflect our commitment to your success.
And did you know there is a student run social comitte at ONH organising social activities for all students at ONH?
Arriving in Oslo, the students and staff at Oslo New University College were incredibly welcoming. I really appreciated being constantly invited to events with other students, and truly feeling like I was a member of the student body. I also had extra time to explore Oslo, Norway, and other European countries.
