Nordic Hope awarded €42,910 to strengthen Nordic collaboration on eating disorder support

We are pleased to share that Nordic Hope: Creating Pathways of Support and Innovation for Eating Disorders has been awarded €42,910 in funding.

The project will bring together partners from across the Nordic region to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in the field of eating disorders. Nordic Hope connects grassroot organisations, peer-support initiatives, researchers, professionals, community actors, and public services to explore more accessible, community-based, and lived-experience-informed approaches to support.

Running from June 2026 to May 2027, the project will include online partner meetings, a thematic workshop at the Nordic Eating Disorder Society (NEDS) conference in Sweden, a symposium and working visit in Reykjavík, and a final open Nordic webinar. Through these activities, partners will identify gaps, share practices, build new networks, and develop a roadmap for continued Nordic cooperation.
The project is led by SÁTT – Association for Eating and Related Disorders, Iceland, in collaboration with Nordic partners from across the region: Nordic Eating Disorder Society (NEDS); NSFSF – Norsk selskap for spiseforstyrrelser, Norway; Traustur Kjarni, Iceland; Spiseforstyrrelsesforeningen (SPISFO), Norway; The Eating Disorder Lab at Oslo New University College, Norway; and Syömishäiriökeskus – Eating Disorder Centre Finland, Finland.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of Nordic Culture Point / Nordisk Kulturkontakt and the Nordic Council of Ministers, whose funding makes this Nordic cooperation possible. Nordic Culture Point is an institution of the Nordic Council of Ministers, and its Demos programme supports civil society collaboration and new ways of working together across the Nordic region.

By bringing together professional, community, and lived-experience perspectives, Nordic Hope aims to strengthen the foundations for future research, innovation, peer support, and more accessible help for people affected by eating disorders across the Nordic countries.
