Alex Gillespie is an Associate Professor II in psychology, an Associate Professor in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics, and an Editor of Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour.
His theoretical interest is in communication problems, especially divergences of perspective, misunderstandings, speaking-up and learning from (or resisting) critical feedback. His current empirical research examines patients’ complaints about healthcare organisations and sense-making in crises. He has published his research in a wide range of outlets, has developed practical tools to understand feedback and communication, and has given advice to many international organisations and government departments.
